Dr. Michael Kamrava, the fertility doctor who treated infamous “Octomom” Nadya Suleman, is being sued by The Medical Board of California for medical malpractice. Kamrava and Suleman grabbed national attention last year after she sought him out for fertility treatments which led her to give birth to octuplets after already having six children and no job.
The Board alleges that Kamrava did not follow standard professional medical practice in his treatment of two specific patients. In the first case, the Board believes that Kamrava was negligent in his treatment of a 48-year old woman. Kamrava implanted seven embryos into the woman who later became pregnant with quadruplets, lost a fetus, and gave birth to three children through c-section delivery. One of the babies suffers from serious developmental delays. They believe that he put her and her children at serious risk. In another case, Kamrava allegedly ignored signs of ovarian cancer after seeing suspicious results on her ultrasound exam.
