Austin Tighe
Austin Tighe began his legal career at Fulbright & Jaworski before practicing at Weil, Gotshal & Manges and the Austin office of 800-lawyer Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, where he was a partner in the firm’s Complex Litigation Group. Over a ten-year period, he represented some of the largest corporations in America in personal injury and consumer class actions. Today, he uses the insights and knowledge gained from those experiences to develop effective strategies for suing corporations and insurance companies on behalf of Texas citizens.
Mr. Tighe’s practice is focused on class actions, business litigation, labor law, and a variety of personal injury matters. He is currently co-lead counsel in twenty-three putative consumer class actions, a number of which are nationwide claims on behalf of tens of thousands of potential class members. He was also lead counsel for more than one hundred federal employees in a lawsuit against the U.S. Government seeking environmental differential pay for exposure to asbestos.
In addition to being admitted to practice before the Supreme Courts and all Federal Courts in Texas and Illinois, Mr. Tighe has been admitted to practice in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, the District of Columbia Circuit Court of Appeals, the Court of Federal Claims, the District Court of Arizona, the Arizona Supreme Court, the Northern and Central District Courts of California, the Southern District Court of Florida, the Middle District Court of Georgia, the District Court of New Jersey, the District Court of New Mexico, the Northern District Court of Ohio and the Northern District Court of Oklahoma.
Mr. Tighe is a member of the National Board of Directors of Justice for Children, co-chair of the Austin Bar Association’s People’s Law School, and a Founding Fellow of the Austin Bar Foundation.
